Plus a wide selection of domain names to choose from (and also hosts domains): YourName.koolhost.com, YourName.isportsdot.com, YourName.artshost.com, and others. And they give you a choice of whether you want banner ad's or a pop-up, so you can do a frames site here if you want to. Their editor is a little clunky, but you can see all the html text in the box, and it's fine once you get used to it. All-in-all this is an okay place to get free hosting. 50 megs of space, full FTP access, fast loading, reliable, tons of add-ons, extras and tools. No top banner ads, annoying pop-ups instead; two on the first page and one on each page thereafter. What sets hypermart apart is that they offer full cgi. The subdomain name is not a true subdomain. Even though they have unlimited cgi, they have strict disk and traffic limits, and a credit card is required at sign-up, which will be billed if limits are exceeded; but the fees are reasonable, less than the going rates for most other hosts. When a visitor changes pages another java square pops up, which when you try to close causes other windows to pop open. That's why this is in the sucks category, but otherwise it's not too bad, and it's dependable. |

Has subdomains and cgi. But doesn't have online editing, so sites can only be constructed and maintained via FTP. A text link appears with the banner at the top of each page that says, Site hosted at Netfirms. Has potential to be one of the best, but the pop-up and pop-down ad on each page a visitor accesses shoots it down. |
